Annual Nomination and Election Process

AAAEA - Capital Area has its annual election in December where a new Executive Board is elected by all paid full members.

Soliciting Nominations

The Nomination and Election Committee is soliciting nominations for the Executive Committee and Committee Chairpersons positions for year 2018. The nomination deadline for candidates is 11:59 P.M. EST on November 25, 2017. The official election and announcement of results will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The election meeting will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the HCLS Miller Branch, 9421 Frederick Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21042.

Excerpts from our By Laws

Eligibility to run for office is as follows:
Any candidate or nominee for any office shall be a Regular Full Member practicing in or retired from his/her special field of engineering, architectural, or information technology with good moral character and have been a member in good standing (dues paid on time in accordance with the association by-laws) for at least one year.
 
A nominee for the Office of President or Vice President shall also have served this Association for at least one year in the capacity of an Officer or a Committee Chairperson.
 

Eligibility to Vote in this election is as follows:
Any full member in the association with good standing and dues paid for 2016.
